The Ozone Hole

The problem: 

The ozone hole is one of the biggest problems in the world and if we don't protect the environment the hole will become bigger and bigger and the temperature of our planet will increase!

The cause:

In my opinion, the cause of the Ozone Hole is the CFCs because they contain a chemical which called chlorine and this chemical can destroy the ozone!The CFCs are contained in the air conditioners,the spray cans the fridges and generally other things which can pollute the environment.

The solution:

I argue that people today are irresponsible and they don't care about the environment..Maybe they don't know how important it is to be clean..Environment is important for all of us and we must protect it from some people who don't respect it! This is the solution: we must stop using products with CFCs in them.If we do that, everybody will be rewarded because we'll live in a safe and clean place!

In my free time I like to relax in my house, but sometimes I meet my friends and we go to play football  or we go to the cinema.

I like listening to music because it helps me relax. I don't prefer a special kind of music , I listen to different kinds.

Our English teacher is a very good teacher and friendly with the children. Also she has a great sense of humor and she tells us jokes all the time to reduce boredom and have fun.

4. Do you enjoy studying English?

I like to study English, but sometimes we have a lot of homework so I don't enjoy it very much. Generally, I prefer to study English than my school subjects.

5. Do you think English will be useful for you in the future?

I think that English is the most important language from all the other languages and it is very useful for a child's future. That is, because English is the global language, so if you travel to other countries you can communicate with local people better. Also, if you want to find a job in the future, English is one of the most important qualifications.

In my free time I like to do many things. Firstly, if I am tired I like doing something restful like listening to music which is very relaxing for me, or playing with my dog. But quite often I like doing active things. I like playing football and volleyball with my friends. Futhermore, I like cycling. Also, I like going out with my friends and having a great time with them.

I really enjoy listening to music. If I am tired I relax by listening to slow music. But my favourite type is pop music. Pop music makes me dance.

My English teacher is called Christina. She is very beautiful and a good teacher. She teaches us a lot of new things which are very important for our lives and she always hopes the best for us!

 

13) Do you enjoy studying English?

 

I enjoy studying English because I obtain valuable knowledge. Also, I learn new things that will be useful for me in the future. However, sometimes I am bored with all the excercises that we have to do.

 

14) Do you thing English will be useful for you in the future?

 

I think English will be very useful for me in the future. English is a global language so it's very important for me to know this language. Also, if I know English I can travel anywhere I want. Moreover, I can use this language after I set up my own business and then, if I communicate with local and foreign customers, I will be a successful person.

10) What do you like doing in your free time? Do you prefer doing something active or restful?

     To be honest, I don't have much free time, but in my free time (but when I do) I usually do something restful. I am keen on reading books and watching movies (especially crime movies with adventure and mystery). I also enjoy listening to music and sketching. However, I like doing active things too. I love hanging out with my friends and going to the cinema. I also like dancing and I have dance lessons five times a week.

11) Do you enjoy listening to music? What kinds of music do you like?

     I love listening to music, because it makes me happy and helps me when I need to relax. My favourite kind of music is Rock. I listen to music everyday, when I study, when I go and when I return from school and even when I am trying to sleep. Music is a very important part of my life and I couldn't live without listening to music.

12) Tell us about your English teacher.

     Our English teacher is called Miss Christina and she is a very innovative and creative teacher. She helps us learn English in many different ways like playing games, using the computer and reading world-famous English books. She is very funny and friendly with everyone and we have a great time in class. However, she is strict when it is necessary and in my opinion that is a very good ability too. To sum up, Miss Christina is one of the best teachers I've ever had.

    I enjoy studying English, because - except from the fact that I like all the foreign laguages - I believe English is the most important language and it will be very useful for me in the future because I want to travel and live abroad.

14) Do you think English will be useful for you in the future? 

    There are many reasons I believe English will be useful for me in the future. Firstly, because English is our global language and if you know English you can communicate easily with everyone. Moreover, an English certificate is an essential qualfication for almost every kind of occupation. Also, by learning English we broaden our knowledge and it give us some further education.  In addition, English will be very useful for me because I want to travel and live abroad. 

Review of Hotel Transylvania

If I was a monster, I would not go to Hotel Transylvania because the staff, the food and accommodation are awful and they wouldn't help me with my problems there.

  First, the staff: The housekeepers are, witches who are bored to clean the hotel and they don't care about hotel and their job.

  They are very lazy  and as a result, they set the hotel on fire. The door knockers are key rings who shout 'do not disturb' when a person comes into room, so they wake up the customers. The fitness coordinator is a fly who is bored with his job. The security in the hotel run up and down in the hotel and, as a result, they make noise!

  Then, the food. They serve you with  lizard fingers and a cheese which screams and shouts which is called scream cheese. The food is awful and they serve you the food without dish!

  The entertainment" Skeletons are the hotel's singers who sing Spanish songs. The activities director is very old and she entertains the costumers with bingo! The entertainment is very boring!

  I like doing plenty of things in my free time, both active and restful. First and foremost, I enjoy hanging out with my friends. When we meet we usually go downtown at a cafe, or we go to the cinema. We sometimes organize parties on Saturdays. Another active thing I love doing is playing volleyball. I'm a player in a team and I practice twice a week. In addition to that, I'm keen on reading books with adventure or fiction and especially English. Also, I really like listening to music.

  I really enjoy listening to music, because it gives me energy, it makes me cheerful and sometimes I need it to relax. My favourite sorts are trance, elecrto and generally dance. I listen to music when I am in my bedroom by my computer, or when I walk down the street from my phone. I often listen to music when I study.

  Miss Christina is a young brilliant teacher with many abilities. She is also creative and that's because she doesn't want us to learn something only in an ordinary way, but she teaches with alternative ones (for instance by using a computer and the Internet), which turn out to be really useful. However, she is strict whenever it's necessary. Apart from that, Miss Christina is friendly with all of her students and she encourages them for the best.

13) Do you enjoy studying English? 

  I enjoy studying English, because it's a further useful education, which affects positively the way I think and behave. I'm incredibly proud of the fact that I'm studying it with success. 

14) Do you think English will be useful for you in the future? 

  Of course I believe English will be useful for me in the future; firstly in travelling, because it's an important qualification,  as it is the universal language. It's also a means of communication that helps us to speak with people from foreign countries and learn different things about their culture. That means that by learning English our mind's cultivation is extended.Then, English helps me obtain knowledge that will be an inevitable part of my life, because I want to study and live abroad. 

                         

CRIME

It    was   Friday  evening. My dad and  I were  in the supermarket  next to  our house. A robber appeared  in the supermarket and he  told us to fall on the ground.The robber had probably escaped  from jail because he  was wearing old clothes. One  of  the customers called the police and they came as soon as possible. Finally,  the policemen caught the robber and everyone was safe and sound. We  were  really lucky because if this man had not caught  in supermarket, we wouldn't have been safe.

In my free time I really enjoy hanging out with my friends, playing computer games and listening to music . I find  very boring doing restful things very boring so I prefer doing active things like playing football, going to the cinema, going cycling and going to the town centre with my friends .

As I said, I thing music is a very important part of my life. Always when I come back from school I always am going go to my room and I am listening listen to music for thirty minutes to relax from school. That helps me to do my homework happily and easily. There are many kinds of music that I like but I think rap and pop are the most amazing! One of my favourite group is Mellises. Every day I listen to almost five of their songs.

Tell us about your Englisch teacher.

My teacher is fantastic. She always has a big smile on her face. She wants us to improve and learn the English language in the best way. I think that sometimes she is very strict with us but this can't stop us from loving her. Also she is very beautiful, clever and very creative.

Do you enjoy studing English?

Yes, I really enjoy studing English. I believe that it is very interesting and exciting. Also by learning English you can see the culture and the attractions of England.

Do you thing English will be useful  for you in the future?

Yes, of cousrse. English is the global language and almost all the world  can speak it .So when you want to communicate with people from the other side of world, it is easy to have a good conversation with them if you speak English fluently.

In my free time I usually watch TV,playing computer games,listening to music or read a book. I don't have so much free time these days because I have a lot of homework but I usually read a small book or watch a movie. These are restful things but as I said before I don't have so much free time to do something active. But I am having ballet lessons three times a week so I exercise a lot.

The staff,food and the accommodation of Hotel Trasylvania

First of all, the  film  was  incredibly  awesome. So, in  my  opinion,  the  staff  of  the  Hotel  Trasylvania  was  full of  monsters like : ugly witches, zombies, headless monsters and the one I liked more was  Quasimodo who was the cook. The food seemed to be creepy, awful and gross , because it had many alive insects, creatures and eyes with sauce. It freaked me out ! The accommodation was fantastic! Because the hotel was unbelievably huge: it had more than 120 rooms for different monster, even for the fleas which were on their honeymoon .

Halloween!

   Halloween is a celebration which England and other countries celebrate.In my opinion,it's a very cool celebration and all children,especially English,love it.

   Halloween is celebrated on 31st,October.The kids choose special costumes,which are very-very frightening like:ghosts,witches-wizards,mummies,pumpkins,vampires,pirates,dragons etc,and go at many houses to take sweets!When they knock on a house's door and the person opens,they say : Trick or treat?And if the person say treat,he must give sweets at the children..But if he say trick,children have already prepared to do him a trick.

   Halloween is the most amazing day of the year for English!They say that this day the dead get out of their tombs and people get in touch with the spirits.

   This day people do a lot of activities:They carve pumpkins,they visit haunted attractions,they play pranks,they tell scary stories and they watch horror films..Generally they have fun!

   I think it's a fantastic day for English and if I go in England,I want to go on the end of October to celebrate this celebration with the people of this country!

An informal letter to Pam

Dear Pam,

  
      How are you? Thanks for your last e-mail. I'm glad you're well. I hope everything's fine there. By the time, is your mother doing fine? I really enjoyed the housewarming party and I had great time there!

   Before the party I was a little nervous and streessed at first, but after when all the guests turned up and I started unwind, I had so much fun. After the party, the House looked as if a bomb had hit it! On the floor were spilled drinks, there were bottles everywhere and pieces of pizza in the sofa. There were plastic cups and plates scratted around the House. It was horrible! It took me awhole day to clean up the mess! My parents weren't there so I had to tidy up alone! Regarding the photographs, tanks for those that you sent me! They were very funny! I noticed that some photos were missing, such as the one where mary is acting like a dog! It's really funny! I'd like to put it on our blog!

      Concerning your diary, three days ago I found it under the sofa. If you want I'll bring it with me when I visit you. Would you like to have it right now?

     I'd love to admire your new house. I'm going to come next month. Is that OK? It will cool to hang out with your friends and go sightseeing,too. I heard that the historical places is very popular. Also, I would like to see your CD collection because I love the kind of music that you prefer.

"Homemade Pumpkin Cookies with Caramel Frosting"

"Homemade Pumpkin Cookies with Caramel Frosting"

 Hi everyone! Welcome to the "Vasilikibakes" series! Today I'm going to be showing you, how to make Pumpkin Cookies. It's Halloween, so it's a great recipe for this season.

 I hope yu enjoy it and let's get see the ingredients:
Ingredients:

• 1 cup of softened butter
• 1/2 cup of brown sugar
• 1/2 cup of white sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
• 1 cup of pumpkin
• 2 cups of all purpose flour 
• 1 teaspoon of baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
• 1/2 teaspoon of cloves
• 1/2 teaspoon of ginger
• 1/2 teaspoon of salt
• 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
• 1 tablespoon of soda

 Ingredients for the caramel frosting:

• 3 tablespoons of butter
• 1/4 cup of heavy cream
• 1/2 cup of brown sugar
• 1 cup of confectioners' sugar
• 1 teaspoon of vanilla extrac

 So, let's get started and make our cookies. Before you start, heat your oven to 350 degrees. In a big bowl put the butter, the brown sugar and the white sugar. Take your spoon or your cake bidder and mix the ingredients together. Then add one egg and pour the vanilla extract. Mix them one more time. Pour the pumpkin into the big bowl and stir with your spoon. It's going to take a dark orange colour.Keep stirring for 2 minutes. Now, take another medium or small size bowl and pour the flour, the soda, the nutmeg, the cloves, the ginger and the cinnamon. If you want put some salt too. Stir the ingredients together and put them in the other big bowl. Mix them again. So, with your spoon, make little circle cookies and put them in your oven, for 10 minutes.

 Now it's time for the frosting: Boil the butter, the heavy cream and the brown sugar. When it's completely cold pour the confectioners' sugar and the vanilla extract. Now stir with the spoon.

          When the cookies are ready, just frost them with the frosting and the cookies are ready to eat! This is just a notice: Before you put your cookies in the oven you can put some chocolate pieces!

                        In the  kitchen, an omelette is a dish made from beaten eggs quicly cooked with butter or oil               in afrying    pan,sometimes folden around a filling such as cheese  vegetables, meat (often ham) or                 some   combinatio of above.To obtain a fluffy texture, whole eggs or sometimes egg whites only are                beaten with a small  amount of milk or cream   or even water, the idea is to have ''bubbles'' of                       water vapor   trapped within the repilly cooked egg some home cooks add baking powder to                       produce a fluffier omelette however this component is sometimes treated by traditional negative.

Informal Letter to an e-friend

Dear David,

 
       As for my personal details, I'm Marinos and I'm the same age as you. Thanks for your letter. I'm glad you wrote to me after you found my profile on the Webpal International site.

      I was born in Heraklion and I lived here ever since with family. Heraklion is the largest city on Crete. I live in a family house which is about 20 minutes from the center by car. My school is only 10 ninutes' walk from there. In my area there are many different shops to buy some souvenirs. For example supermarket "Chalkiadakis" is near my house. Moreover, my house is near a gym and in front of it is a park with different kinds of trees and flowers. Furthermore, I have got a sister who is 15 years old and her name is Rafaela. Also, I haven't got a pet but I want one! My parents disagree with me.

     I spend my spare time listening to music because it relaxes me and also the lyrics make me more enthusiastic. My favourite Pop singer is Rihanna. In addition to that, I really like to hang out  with my friends and go to the cinema on weekends. Also, on Sundays my family and I usually go to our village and meet my grandparents. Moreover, every day after school my friends and I go for a walk or go to an internet-cafe'. Furthermore, I enjoy playing computer games on the internet or playing football with my friends every friday evening. Also, every day after I do my homework, I watch tv with my parents or a DVD with adventure.

   The reason why I want a penfriend is because it is a great opportunity to improve my English, especially my writing skills and also I want to learn more about your interests and your country. Please tell me!

Italian Pizza

 Name of dish:Italian Pizza

Ingredients:

•  1 teaspoon salt.
• 1/2 teaspoon baking powder.
• 2 teaspoon sugar.
• 2 teaspoon oil.
• 1/2 glass of water.
• 1 egg.
• slices tomato.
• slices ham.
• slices cheese.
• slices peppers:green/yellow/red.
• 1 can of tomato sauce                                     

 Instructions:

First of all  take a bowl and into the bowl  pour the bakin powder then the salt,the sugar,the oil,the glass of water and in the end the egg.Next  pour the mixture in the mix for 5-10 minutes.Then open the dough and we put:1)the tomato sauce

      2)the cheese slices

      3)the ham slices

      4)the tomato slices

      5)the pepper slices

After that, put the pizza into the oven for about 30 minutes on 30-35 degrees.

How To Make An Apple Pie!

Ingredients:

 

1)1 box of butter

2)1 + 1/2 glass of sugar

3)1 teaspoon cinnamon

4)5 apples

5)5 eggs

6)1 + 1/2 glass of flour

Instruction:

Put the butter,the sugar and the cinnamon in the oven at 150 degrees for ten minutes.Take a pan and put the apples in it.Remove the ingredients from the oven .Put them in a bowl with all the other ingredients.Mix them with the mixer for ten minutes and put the mixture on the pan over the apples.Put the pan in the oven at 180 degrees for one hour.Good luck!!
